Visited Esquina on recommendation of my parents and were not disappointed. Fantastic food and service in lovely surroundings. Friendly welcome and a wonderful evening. Thank you - we will be back!

We ate here 3 times last year and the cataplana was amazing but all the dishes were, chicken and steak and the desserts. Service was excellent and received the best welcome. And will be back in two weeks time, can’t wait.

Thanks both jorge and Tasha for two beautiful meals while we were in Burgau last week May/June 2010. Our first evening called in just by chance enjoyed the food so much we booked for a return meal.
We were not dissapointed. Absolutely fantastic both nights. Thank you both. Just a shame we couldn't sample all the menu. Next time perhaps, next year.

We found Esquina as we walked past one evening during our first visit to Burgau.  We walked in off the street without booking and straight away were made to feel very welcome.  For our first Esquina experience we tried the Monkfish Cataplana and Dean hasn’t stopped talking about it since.  We vowed to go back before we went home (this time we booked to make sure we could get in).  Again, another superb meal, Dean had the Steak I had the piri piri chicken and it was all stunning.  Although the restaurant looks quite unassuming from the outside, the inside is beautifully furnished, and you are made to feel that nothing is too much trouble.  We hope to be back in Burgau again soon and will definitely be back for more of the same impeccable hospitality.  Thanks guys.

We recently returned from Burgau and ate in the Esquina restaurant towards the end of our holiday, having not tried it before as it always looked busy and we have two small children, one in a pram. As soon as we walked in we were impressed with the sophisticated decor and friendly atmosphere of the place, and it was completely spotless. The owner was friendly, interacting with the children and bringing our eldest, who is four and was getting tired, some toys to play with. Nothing was too much trouble and we struggled to order from the wide range of food available. We hadn't had a bad meal since arriving in Burgau but my husband, who had eaten fillet steak in a number of restaurants, said it was the best he had ever tasted. Everything was delicious, well-presented and there was plenty of it, everything you could want in a decent restaurant! The owners obviously work very hard to provide a lovely experience at the Esquina and they didn't disappoint. We only wish we had discovered it at the beginning rather than the end of our holiday!

We cannot recommend Esquina enough. We ate there three times during our week in the Algarve in June 2008. We have to confess to having known Tash and Jorge for some time, but their restaurant exceeded all expectations. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming and the food superb, the fish and the puddings in particular. Perfect!

We stayed in Burgau in August this year and spent 4 great evenings at Esquina - we would have eaten there more but the place was so popular it was always fully booked! The food was spectacular - my wife and I like a variety of foods but the children are fussy eaters. But they loved the food too although weren't very adventurous always sticking to the same dish. The unobtrusive service was just what you needed -Tash and Jorge were there when you wanted them to be but you didn't notice them at other times. We will certainly be booking our first night there next time we holiday in Burgau.
