Jorge Seromenho grew up in the idyllic fishing village of Burgau in the Western Algarve and lived here with his family until the mid 1990s, when he met Natasha who was a regular visitor to the area. They married in 1998 and lived in Berkshire in the UK until February 2007, when they completed on the purchase of a derelict house in Burgau (shown below).
The old house was then demolished and rebuilt as a restaurant with living accommodation above. Natasha and Jorge are both passionate about providing excellent service and ensuring customers have a truly enjoyable experience at Esquina (pronounced “eshkeena”- Portuguese for ‘corner’). Esquina Restaurante opened in September 2007 and, apart from a few inevitable first night hitches, the restaurant has been an overwhelming success ever since. Natasha and Jorge have 3 children, Harrison, aged 8, and twins Sebastian and Emilia, aged 21 months.
